Don’s primary responsibilities with Ward-Young include design, project management, and practice management. He has over 40 years experience in the design and construction of projects in both California and Nevada and is very familiar with the project design, review and approval requirements of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency for both residential and commercial projects. Other areas of expertise include construction document production, quality control, and construction contract administration.

In addition to his responsibilities at Ward-Young, Don is active in the North Lake Tahoe Community serving on the North Tahoe Regional Advisory Council, the Bear Creek Valley Board, and as a stream monitoring volunteer with the Truckee River Watershed Council. He served previously on the Tahoe City Design Review Committee and was Chairman of the Citizen’s Design Advisory Committee for the Tahoe City Sidewalk Project for which the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association/Chamber of Commerce named him Co-Citizen of the Year 1999-2000.

In his free time, Don enjoys metal arts, alpine and nordic skiing, hiking, sailing, and SCUBA diving.
