TRUCKEE TAHOE AIRPORT DISTRICT – ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

The TTAD’s administration building is an 11,000 s.f. partial two-story building incorporating multi-purpose community meeting spaces, an airport lounge, a delicatessen, and administrative offices for the District.  Ward-Young’s services included programming of the District’s needs and assisting the District with determining sustainable design objectives for the project, which resulted in LEED Silver equivalency.  The design process included life-cycle cost analyses of mechanical system options.  The design incorporates daylighting, solar thermal and photo voltaic collection systems, high performing building envelope, low-impact design (LID) of the site improvements, and drought tolerant landscaping.
